It is amazing how time really can pass by. That truly is why, i am learning to live in the moment (Cesar).
This beats true for our 2 year anniversary at the store. I could not do it without you!
Therefore help us celebrate this weekend...

i pulled this sketch from "becky higgins sketches"
i am trying to sketch with more than one photo and have been pretty good at achieving this goal. so here is a sketch with 4 photos!

the above sketch link just was not working for me - so sorry about that. I guess the computer is telling me that it likes my own sketches more. SO i created this sketch, with at least 4 or more photos. I heard you and you said you wanted sketches with more photos. I will continue to do this. This sketch is also a 2-pager; again, something that is a 'big' challenge for me as i look to work on "1-pagers."

The past few weeks we have done colours, this week i am working on a quote...
Something to inspire you, but also a challenge for me (and hopefully you)
My quote for the week:

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have
into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance,
chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into
a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
a creates a vision for tomorrow."
~ Melody Beattie

So the challenge is to work this quote into your page, I would love
to see what you come up with - mine will be posted next week!

What makes you tick? Sometimes we have quirky little things that rock our worlds - something that nobody but you would know... Make up your card this week with a few of those

This week I used some double-sided Tinkering Ink paper to create a base for the card, and then a small ripped piece and alpha rub-ons for the word 'bliss.' I added a few strokes of paint to make my journalling stand out against the patterned paper.

Don't you love the feel of a new book? The crisp colourful pages, the unbent spine as you become the first to crack it and the endless pages of inspiration and insight. This is definitely the case for the new books we received in store.
With titles like:
all men scrapbook pages
pet pages unleashed
we dare you
the artful card
journal revolution
and so much more...
these titles are sure to entice, challenge and inspire...
you cannot miss getting at least one of these titles and be the first to ... crack the spine and sit by the fire reading and devouring the pages!

So i have been learning digital...definitely a learning curve. Now i understand when new people to scrapbooking say they are overwhelmed. Don't misunderstand, i am definitely not leaving my traditional scrapbooking. There is something to be said for tactile pages that move and feel with your emotions. The digital however, is much less fussy ~ especially when you want a blue ribbon black....and voila; all in the touch of a key! I am learning digital to enhance my brain, but also because i have to create a program for a dinner theatre i am dancing in next weekend. It is a fundraiser for the upcoming tour to eastern Europe.
So i will post my shortcomings of digital shortly, just like anything...have to start somewhere.

Ohhhh and really great new resource books in the store. This too i will post shortly!

A layout is completed so much faster when a sketch is made first. I swear this layout has taken me longer to upload than to create! My brother-in-law, is going to start getting upset with me, as i am always using him in my layout posts.

Last week, I posted about the colour blue. This week is my 'royal blue' layout. A great colour for family history layouts.

This week's Deck of Me prompt is JOY. Where do you find it? When do you have it? Is it a part of your daily life? Who or what makes you happy?

Scenic Route paper is currently one of my favourites because of their graphic, clean look so I trimmed down a scrap to fit my card and adhered it - with Scotch spray (lately I've been just loving this 'easy' way of gluing stuff down!!). Then I wrapped the bottom in Making Memories ribbon and placed a little Tim Holtz grungeboard key - white inked and pink flocked - beside a Making Memories flower and brads.

We received some more new product in the store. Popular items are replenished, while other items are new and enticing. We received some great organizational items in the store (perfect to organize-especially on these cold cold wintery days upon us). There are also templates for different types of doodling. These are great to work with felt markers, stamp ink, acrylic paint or really anything..you can think of.
I have attached a layout showing how i implemented the templates, using stamp ink.
