A one-layer of paper project, which is unusual for me. Sometimes it is suitable to keep the layers minimal, such was the case in this project. Where I wanted to keep the focus on the photo and the memory of that moment in time.
To create this project I started with the rose paper found in the collection called Wedding Day. The photo is matted with black card stock, which simply separates it from the background paper. The design paper has these beautiful roses, along with red confetti on it. I wanted to carry that confetti look up into the bottom of the photo. I found that red crushed glass was the perfect embellishment to accomplish this. In the project image above it is difficult to distinguish which red bits are 3D and which are part of the paper design. Exactly the look I was hoping for. Don't you love it when things turn out how you imaged?
For the chipboard message I painted the entire chipboard, including the edges with Distress Paint Black Soot. Then, with a paint brush I pained the single word with Distress Paint Barn Door. Next I put liquid glue along the bottom of the red word, then sprinkled the same red crushed glass into the glue and let it dry. Tip: be sure to use a liquid glue which dries clear.
